Natural Turquoise Necklaces

Beautiful blues, greens and browns in captivating patterns, elegantly hand-set in Sterling Silver to really draw the eye. Every piece is unique, with each stone chosen for its complexity and character. I only use genuine, natural turquoise from trusted sources.

I love natural turquoise!

The intricate patterns and deep colours of these stones make for the most unique statement pendants. It’s also the reason why real, genuine turquoise isn’t cheap. In fact, it was historically the stone favoured by monarchs and pharaohs and associated variously with wealth, luck and warding off evil. Hopefully you don’t need the latter, and are simply captivated by its beauty 😊. If you were born in December, it may even be your birthstone, so if you are looking for a beautiful birthstone pendant look no further 😉

Being a stone, natural turquoise is mined and the colours and pattern types will vary by the mine. These are my personal favourites:

Bamboo Mountain – Bamboo Mountain in China (which mines a rare turquoise close to the famous Yungai Turquoise). Bamboo Mountain is an exceptionally colourful turquoise that features rustic beige and browns, reminiscent of the bamboo tree. Each Bamboo Mountain turquoise stone displays a remarkable mottled stained glass pattern of green hues along with a striking black matrix.

Giraffe Turquoise – Giraffe Turquoise typically displays slightly orange or yellow spots with bright brown or blue edges. With soft brown and black matrices, these gems give you an incredibly beautiful contrast.

Treasure Mountain Turquoise – Sourced near Qingu, Hubei, Treasure Mountain Turquoise is known for its variety of colours and distinctive patterns

My “Avoid Disappointment” warning
– Please don’t be fooled by any “hand crafted” jewellery you find online or at craft shows that appears suspiciously cheap – I know how much the raw materials cost (silver is expensive enough, and as for genuine turquoise…) and how long it takes to do it properly. Nearly all the cheap “hand made” necklaces you see have at best been “hand assembled” in minutes from cheap, generic materials. If cheap and cheerful is what you are after then why not – they are a bit of fun! But they won’t make you feel super special..
